Biography / Paul Hagman, President of RBF CoLab, was granted his Masters of Architecture from Kent State University after studying architecture and urban design in Florence, Italy, and at the Cleveland Urban Design Collaborative in Cleveland, Ohio. After returning to the Mahoning Valley, Hagman brought with him his knowledge of urban real estate development and invested in the Mahoning Valley by forming a partnership to rehabilitate the century old John R. Davis building, bringing business and residential uses to the center city and increased activity to the street. The project was subsequently awarded an Historic Preservation Award in 2009 from the Mahoning Valley Historical Society

Other projects include the headquarters of the National Additive Manufacturing Innovation Institute (NAMII), now America Makes -- part of a $70 million dollar program to research and develop 3d printing for increased and improved manufacturing and industrial uses. The flagship institute, designed by Hagman while employed at Faniro Architects, Inc., is a showroom and research facility for the processes and products that this technology is capable of creating. The institute was lauded by President Obama in the 2013 State of the Union address.

Hagman is proud to serve on the boards of several local organizations, including as President of the Friends of Fellows Riverside Gardens. He also serves on the Board of Directors of the Raymond John Wean Foundation, the Boys and Girls Club of Youngstown, and the Advisory Committee of The Power of the Arts.   Mr. Hagman is a past board member of the Neighborhood SUCCESS Grants Program of the Raymond John Wean Foundation, the Mahoning Valley Young Professionals Club, the Young Leaders Advisory Board of the Mahoning Valley Historical Society, and past chair of the Mahoning Valley 40 Under 40 Awards.
